The Bridgeport Board of Education is hosting a community forum at Dunbar School, Thursday July 17, at 6 p.m., to discuss the school’s future after the board cut ties with Family Urban School of Excellence last Thursday.
According to Linda Lambeck at the Connecticut Post, the purpose of the forum is to “explain the educational program to be put in place.”
While the board officially has made no decision, one possible partnership is already on the table for Dunbar.
A joint statement issued by Superintendent Fran Rabinowitz and Education Commissioner Stefan Pryor indicated that the district is “actively exploring a partnership with Cooperative Educational Services (CES),” which will also lead Marin’s turnaround beginning this Fall.
“Teachers, students and parents have demonstrated commendable resolve to turn around Dunbar,” the statement reads. “They deserve a partner who will be able to provide the attention and support necessary for the work that lies ahead.
